An-Najah National University and Palestine Exchange Launch the First Edition of the Applied Competition “Your Exchange at Your University… Learn and Trade”
Driven by their shared vision of linking university education with real-world practice and developing students’ skills in the fields of finance and investment, the Faculty of Business and Communication at An-Najah National University, in cooperation with the Palestine Exchange (PEX), launched on Sunday morning, November 30, 2025, the first edition of the applied competition titled “Your Exchange at Your University… Learn and Trade.”
The launch event was held at the Martyr Dhafer Al-Masri Auditorium on the Old Campus, in the presence of representatives from the Palestine Exchange, financial brokerage firms, faculty members, and students.
The competition aims to enhance financial literacy among university students and provide them with a hands-on experience that simulates the trading environment of the Palestinian capital market. This is achieved through the formation of virtual companies in which students compete within a practical, training-based framework under the direct supervision of teams from both the Exchange and the Faculty.
In his address during the launch ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Communication, Dr. Raef Al-Jallad, emphasized that this initiative represents a strategic step toward applied financial education that places students at the heart of the real market. He noted that the Faculty is working to transform classrooms into practical simulation environments for the world of investment and business, thereby enhancing employability opportunities and strengthening future market-oriented skills. He added that this competition is part of a series of high-quality partnerships established by the Faculty with financial and banking institutions, aimed at building a generation equipped with practical understanding of financial markets and the ability to make informed investment decisions.
For his part, the Director General of the Palestine Exchange, Mr. Nihad Kamal, explained that this initiative is the first of its kind at the regional capital market level, as it enables students to engage in a realistic trading experience that develops their analytical and investment capabilities. He pointed out that the competition includes practical training on establishing public shareholding companies, listing mechanisms, and board governance, in addition to analyzing the performance of listed stocks and companies. This, he noted, contributes to raising students’ financial awareness and preparing them for integration into the financial and banking labor market. He also expressed his hope that this experience would serve as a starting point for expanding the initiative to other Palestinian universities to maximize its impact on students nationwide.
It is worth noting that the competition is implemented under the Diamond Sponsorship of CFI Palestine and the Gold Sponsorship of United Securities Company. This first edition marks the beginning of a sustainable applied educational pathway that bridges academia with the Palestinian capital market.
