As part of the College of Business and Communication’s commitment at An-Najah National University to strengthening community partnership and linking academic knowledge with practical application, students of the Digital Tourism Marketing course at the College of Business and Communication were honored in recognition of their outstanding achievements in digital marketing projects. These projects aimed to highlight the identity of Nablus’ Old City and shed light on its cultural and civilizational heritage through creative approaches that employ the latest digital tools, contributing to the support of local tourism and community service.
Dr. Firas Al-Nasr, Director of the Business Department, presented certificates of participation to the students, praising their efforts and creativity and emphasizing the importance of these projects in refining students’ practical skills and enhancing their ability to produce professional content that reflects the status of the Old City and its unique historical and cultural character. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to Dr. Lama Al-Shanti for her outstanding efforts in academic supervision and follow-up throughout the semester, and for her commitment to fostering experiential learning based on fieldwork and practical application.
For her part, Dr. Lama Al-Shanti expressed her pride in the students’ achievements, affirming that these projects reflect an advanced level of professional awareness and highlight the pivotal role of digital tourism marketing as an effective tool for preserving cultural memory, supporting the local economy, and enhancing the city’s image through authentic content and well-documented experiences. She added that Nablus’ Old City is not merely a tourist site, but an integrated cultural and social ecosystem whose story deserves to be shared with the world in a way that respects its authenticity and showcases the beauty of its details.
The College of Business and Communication also extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by Dr. Dirgham Al-Fares, as well as Engineer Walid Abu Zeina, Mr. Ayoub Abu Lawha, and Ms. Lyan Al-Sayeh, for their constructive cooperation in implementing the joint projects and their effective contribution to supervision and support throughout the various stages of work, which played a key role in the success of this initiative and in strengthening integration between the academic and professional sectors.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Raafat Al-Jallad, Dean of the College of Business and Communication, emphasized the importance of such joint applied projects in empowering students, integrating them into the labor market and community life, and developing their practical skills in ways that positively reflect on their professional paths and contribute to community service and sustainable development.
