The session was attended by a distinguished delegation from Deloitte, including Mr. Ikrima Fayyad, Mr. Alaa Abu Seir, Mr. Emad Awad, and Ms. Hala Joudeh.

The event shed light on the latest developments in the fields of accounting and auditing. The speakers delivered an in-depth professional presentation addressing the most influential standards in financial reporting and auditing. The discussion covered:

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS): An overview of key updates related to IFRS 18, IFRS 9, and IAS 34.

International Standards on Auditing (ISA): A focus on ISA 700 and ISA 570, in addition to the International Standard on Related Services ISRS 4400 (Agreed-Upon Procedures).

The Deloitte team also presented a contemporary practical perspective on the growing use of artificial intelligence in audit processes, highlighting its role in enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and digital transformation within the financial sector.

In a distinctive interactive segment, Mr. Emad Awad and Ms. Hala Joudeh—both alumni of the Faculty’s Accounting Department—shared their professional journeys and practical experiences at Deloitte. Their contributions served as a source of inspiration for students and reinforced confidence in the quality of the Faculty’s academic programs.

The event concluded with an introductory session on career opportunities at Deloitte, during which students were given the opportunity to submit their résumés in preparation for potential future job interviews. This opened promising prospects for students to join one of the world’s leading firms in auditing and professional services.

This event is part of a series of strategic activities implemented by the Faculty of Business and Communication aimed at enhancing students’ readiness and equipping them with practical skills and professional knowledge aligned with the requirements of local, regional, and international labor markets.
