In line with the mission of the Faculty of Business and Communication at An-Najah National University to equip students with future-oriented skills and connect education with the digital labor market and entrepreneurship, and within its vision to strengthen effective engagement with the business sector and national institutions related to the digital economy and technological transformation, the Faculty organized a distinguished academic day for students of the Digital Economy and E-Commerce program.
The academic day included two specialized field visits in Salfit and Ramallah. The first visit was to Mart.ps, a Palestinian success story in the field of e-commerce. During the visit, students were introduced to the company’s various departments, starting from order processing, operations, warehouses, sorting, preparation, and delivery, and concluding with the media production and advertising content department. The visit provided a practical model demonstrating how to build and operate a successful Palestinian e-commerce platform.
In the second part of the academic day, students visited the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy in Ramallah, where they met with His Excellency Minister Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Natsheh, Mr. Shadi Zaghb, Director General of the Palestinian Post, and Mr. Fadi Marjan, Director General of the Government Computer Center.
His Excellency the Minister emphasized the importance of empowering youth and enhancing their digital skills as the main driver of the Palestinian digital economy, highlighting the Ministry’s support for entrepreneurial projects and innovation in the fields of e-commerce and digital transformation. Specialized presentations were also delivered addressing digital infrastructure for e-commerce, the role of the Palestinian Post in developing logistics services, the “Hukoomati” e-government system and electronic government services, as well as cybersecurity and information security.
This applied activity aligns with the Faculty’s orientation toward preparing graduates capable of competitiveness and leadership in driving the transformation toward an innovative and sustainable Palestinian economy, strengthening Palestine’s presence in the global digital economy.
