The Faculty of Business and Communication at An-Najah National University organized a professional training workshop via Zoom on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, titled “Analyzing Recent Developments in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Sustainability Standards.”


The workshop was delivered by Dr. Jomaa Hmeidan, an international expert and author specializing in IFRS and IPSAS standards.

Dr. Hmeidan discussed the latest developments in the IFRS framework, particularly IFRS 18 related to financial statement presentation and disclosure, as well as the newly issued IFRS S1 and S2 standards focused on sustainability-related financial disclosures that aim to unify and enhance global reporting practices.

The session highlighted the importance of keeping pace with these global changes due to their profound implications for accounting and financial reporting professions and emphasized the need to prepare Palestinian professionals capable of operating in an evolving international financial environment.

This workshop comes as part of the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to integrating academic learning with practical application, equipping students with updated knowledge and professional competencies aligned with global market demands.
