The Faculty of Business and Communication at An-Najah National University hosted Mr. Abdullah Kharoob, Executive Director of the Sustainable Change for Development Association, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as part of a lecture for students enrolled in the course “Public Relations in Nonprofit Organizations,” supervised by Mr. Faisal Saleh, faculty member and Acting Head of the Department of Digital Media.
This hosting came as part of the faculty’s efforts to strengthen the integration between academic knowledge and practical experience, and to expose students to influential leadership models within the nonprofit sector.
During the session, Mr. Kharoob shared his experience in founding and managing the association, highlighting the role of public relations in developmental work, the concept of human-centered public relations, and the importance of community advocacy. He also discussed key programs and initiatives implemented by the association in light of current economic and social conditions.
The discussion also addressed the challenges facing nonprofit organizations, particularly those related to funding mechanisms, building community trust, and changing stereotypes associated with the sector. Mr. Kharoob emphasized the vital social and humanitarian role of such institutions in achieving sustainable development.
The session witnessed strong student engagement, with questions focusing on the skills needed to work in the nonprofit sector, the role of youth in developmental initiatives, and available internship opportunities within the association. The discussion also shed light on the association’s contribution to achieving the third Sustainable Development Goal — good health and well-being.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Faisal Saleh and the students expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Abdullah Kharoob for his valuable participation and the knowledge and practical experience he shared.
