In a creative and practical learning experience, students of the “Event and Conference Management” course in the Department of Public Relations at the Faculty of Business and Communication – An-Najah National University, organized a youth conference simulating an international youth forum under the title: Youth 180: Today’s Impact, Tomorrow’s Legacy, supervised by Dr. Soha Sabbouh and attended by a large audience of faculty and students.

The event aimed to develop students’ skills in organization, management, teamwork, and communication, as well as to enhance critical thinking and raise awareness of social and developmental issues.

Dr. Sabbouh opened the conference, emphasizing that the event represents a genuine platform for creativity and innovation, and expressed her pride in her students’ performance.
Mr. Raed Debei, Assistant to the University President for Community Affairs, also addressed the audience on behalf of the university administration, commending the students’ initiative and noting that such activities reflect the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its vision of adopting participatory, practice-based learning approaches.

The conference featured four main sessions, each led by students and joined by distinguished experts and youth ambassadors:

Be the Change: Stories from the Heart of Volunteering – Managed by student Salma Al-Khayyat, this session showcased inspiring volunteer stories and experiences from inside and outside the university.

Peace of Mind in Times of War: Mental Health – Led by Zain Al-Hajji, it discussed the importance of mental well-being amid conflict, including the presentation of the “You’re Not Alone” initiative.

Turning Point: Entrepreneurship in Times of Transformation – Led by Rakan Ishtayyeh, the session focused on the role of entrepreneurship in building the future.

Artificial Intelligence and Technology: Youth Shaping the Future – Led by Tala Jaddallah, this discussion explored opportunities technology presents for Palestinian youth.

The conference also included video presentations documenting students’ planning and execution efforts, as well as the “You’re Not Alone” mental health campaign, carried out under another course supervised by Dr. Haya Ayoub.
A recreational sports activity led by Dr. Suleiman Al-Amad added an element of enthusiasm and positive energy to the day.

This conference is part of a series of practical and experiential learning activities organized by the Department of Public Relations at the Faculty of Business and Communication. A second conference under the same course is scheduled for Monday, May 19, 2025, to give another group of students the opportunity to showcase their talents and initiatives in various fields.
