Dr. Alaa Al-Din Muhannad Dweikat from the Faculty of Business and Communication at An-Najah National University, in collaboration with Dr. Rasmi Muqbel from the Hashemite University, Dr. Mohammad Zaid from Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, and Ms. Asia Abu Khalid from the Hashemite University, published a scientific paper entitled:
“Governance for a Greener Europe: Audit Committee and Carbon Emission.”


The paper was published in the prestigious Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting, which has an Impact Factor of 3.3 and is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) globally within the Scopus database.

The study examines the effect of audit committee characteristics on performance and carbon emission disclosure among companies listed on the STOXX Europe 600 index, using data spanning 11 years (2012–2022).
