Program Reference

As a reference for TV and radio programs, the college relies on the academic criteria of the Academic Reliance Institution of  AEJMC for the year 2006, after making a few modifications to fit the nature of TV and radio programs, as well as with Palestinian and Arab society. This is reflected in its objectives, which are as follows: 

Objectives:

  • Train students to use the latest technologies in the field of radio and television production.
  • Train students to prepare and produce radio and  television programs
  • Teach students  professional standards and journalism ethics.
  • Prepare students to deal with radio and TV atmosphere production and the skills required in the production stages.
  • Formalize students with the methods and rules of scientific research in the field of media.

Program's Desired Educational Outcomes

Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Understand TV and radio preparation, writing & presenting bases.
  • Understand TV and radio programs' different forms, their characteristics and good ways to produce them.
  • Understand educational and cultural programs and their role in enhancing the communities, with a focus on Palestinian community development.
  • TV and radio production starting from choosing the idea, preparing, presenting, shooting and directing it till the end with producing different forms of programs.
  • Broadcasting and specialized channels.
  • News and news programs - directing them, presenting them, and rules of preparing and presenting news
  • Criticize the drama and films and evaluate their roles in the society.
  • Arabic grammar in TV and radio  writing and performance.

Intellectual Skills:

The graduate will be able to:

  • Analyze the impact factors in TV and radio performance.
  • Plan to conduct survey research on TV and radio audiences including general opinion research.
  • Competently analyze news and news reports, criticize drama, TV and radio ads, recorded and documentary programs.
  • Analyze the political, economical, scientific and  legal events and link together.
  • Evaluate the TV and radio programs' performance for all various forms.

Professional and Practical Skills:

The graduate will be able to:

  • Prepare the TV & and radio programs according to the programs' forms (direct dialogue, talk show, investigation, news story, news, recorded films).
  • Use TV and radio's studio to record or broadcast the programs.
  • Use the various needed tools and equipment for TV production (cameras: studio camera, portable camera, light, linear and non-linear montage equipment, sound equipment) or radio (sound equipment, montage).
  • Produce TV and radio programs.
  • Employ the computer for TV and radio production.
  • Use correct Arabic grammar for writing TV and radio programs.

General Skills:

The graduate will be able to:

  • Deal with the computer, save and recall computerized data.
  • Use the statistics programs for analyzing the research data.
  • Able to use the internet network system.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Translate from and into other languages.
