Our department provides students with the knowledge and skills to analyze geographical phenomena and find the solutions to the challenges we face in Palestine.  We teach four themes in our department; Human Geography that focuses on the interaction of human beings with their environment; Physical Geography that focuses on physical characteristics of the land; Economic Geography that looks at the distribution of water resources, transport, and industry; and Applied Geography, which focuses on practical skills of manual map analysis.  We want to motivate students to understand how the study of geography is central to understanding and findings solutions for problems we suffer, such as environmental pollution and climate change.

We offer students with skills in modern technologies for data collection, management, and analysis. The Department is preparing for a Masters’ program in Geo-technology, which will allow students in other departments like Information Technology and Science to enroll in our program.  We also emphasize practical training through manual map analysis and field trips in Palestine and Jordan.
